Adinkra symbols are used widely in west Africa and hold decorative function but also represent objects that encapsulate evocative messages conveying traditional wisdom, aspects of life, or the environment. There are many symbols with distinct meanings, often linked with proverbs.
On the bottom left, this jersey holds the Adinkra symbol DWENNIMMEN
The “ram's horns,” meaning
humility and strength. The ram is noted for its strength when it engages itself in a fight against its adversary.
