Africax5 has a vacancy for a savvy social media professional to join our content and communications team’s expanding operations. Our priority is to recruit the right fit for our creative culture, with the title of Social Media Executive or Social Media Manager attached to the successful candidate based on the experience and abilities that they bring to the role.

We are recruiting for a part-time position.

Founded on years of digital media publishing experience, Africax5 is focused on creating high quality content to deliver authentic audience engagement.

As Social Media Executive/Manager, you’ll be working across a range of projects as well as support the marketing and communications requirements. You will also be actively involved with editorial and zoom project meetings, and be expected to bring great ideas to the table, including how projects can be brought to life creatively.

Above all we’re looking for someone who will relish creative challenges, thrive in a wide and varied role.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduled creation and delivery of outstanding social media content

• Support the Editorial Director in delivering upon project content marketing strategies with adherence to brand tone and style

• Work with the lead Designer in outputting compelling social media assets

• Monitor and moderate audience activity across platforms, responding where appropriate and necessary

• Keep up to date with news, bring innovative social media thinking and content best practices

Requirements

• Previous experience of working in a similar social media capacity essential

• Have strong core skills and tactical knowledge of deploying social media campaigns

• Proven experience and success in growing active social media communities will be an advantage

• Be highly curious about the new and innovative ways that existing, as well as up-and-coming social media platforms, can be leveraged to create high quality audience engagement

• Have strong organisational skills including effective and realistic time-management

• Be highly motivated, self-confident, and flexible

• Experience of using social media management tools, such as Hootsuite or Buffer will be an advantage
